ABOUT
Magnetic Bunny Art’s “Rock the Tradition” Music Compilation contest offers youngwave bands the chance to compete to be included in the “Rock The Tradition” music compilation. All proceeds from the sale of CDs and/or digital content will be donated directly to the All American Soap Box Derby.
Bands are requested to submit a CD quality original song recorded to disc. The songs should focus on any of the following topics:
(1) any aspect, directly or indirectly, of the Soap Box Derby
(2) the spirit of sportsmanship
(3) the excitement of the race
(4) the value of tradition
All entries must be postmarked by May 21 and accompany a completed contest entry and song submission form and $25 entry fee. This fee is non-refundable and will be used to help cover the costs of the CD production and manufacturing as well as Magnetic Bunny Art’s promotions and marketing expenses which are expected to reach $1,600 for this project.
Magnetic Bunny Arts reserves the right to forfeit the manufacture and sale of physical CDs and instead make this project available only as digital content if ample manufacturing and marketing funds are not raised through song submission fees and Rock The Tradition project contributions.

Magnetic Bunny Art’s “Rock The Tradition” Music Compilation
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY
Entrant/Bands must have lawful access to the Internet with a valid e-mail address. Only the original author (or he author’s affiliated band members with the author’s permission) of the submitted song may enter or win. In the event of a dispute as to authorship, Magnetic Bunny Arts (“Sponsor”) reserves the right to disqualify any entry or winner; Magnetic Bunny Art’s decisions are final.
How To Enter:
Limit: two (2) entries per band.
A band is defined as at least one person with one instrument.
All entries must be postmarked by Saturday, May 21, 2011.
To enter, download the contest entry form at www.magneticbunny.com and follow all instructions to complete the contest entry form.
The entry form must be completed and mailed to Magnetic Bunny – PO BOX 754 – Kent, Ohio 44240 with a copy of the band’s Song (on CD, or CD-R, or CD-RW, DVD, DVD-R or DVD+R) and $25 non-refundable entry fee per song submission.
You must include the name of the Primary Registrant in the file name. The entrant must submit audio file format of the original track. Audio files must be CD quality. Entry cannot exceed 8 minutes in duration. Entry must be “original” music tracks from the band. Limit of two (2) entries per band.
Each song must be provided on an individual Disc CD, or CD-R, or CD-RW, DVD, DVD-R or DVD+R. The disc must be labeled with the following: (1) Primary contact name, (2) Primary contact email address, (3) Primary contact phone number, (4) Band name, (5) Song name, (6) Length of song, in minutes and seconds. These must be labeled on the physical disc, preferably in marker.
Each song submission must meet one of the following theme requirements:
(1) any aspect, directly or indirectly, of the Soap Box Derby
(2) the spirit of sportsmanship
(3) the excitement of the race
(4) the value of tradition
Any band that does not enter all required material will not be considered. Any band that is chosen for the compilation may be required to sign additional documentation prior to performing. By entering this contest you represent and warrant that:
1) the song you submit is an original composition of your band
2) all authors of the song have given their consent to its posting,
3) If Entrant does not control publishing or master use rights they must secure clearances before acceptance.
Rights holder retains control of master, MAGNETIC BUNNY ARTS/Sponsor is simply licensing for temporary-term promotional purposes.
4) In keeping with the youngwave music mission of Magnetic Bunny Arts, a band must contain a minimum of one member under the age of 18 years old on the release date of the Rock The Tradition Music Project, July 31, 2011.
All songs must conform to Magnetic Bunny Art’s standards and practices and policies as established or determined by Magnetic Bunny Arts in its sole discretion.
Entries that are mis-directed, late, illegible or not received due to technical malfunction will not be eligible.
Furthermore, any entry that is considered lewd, obscene or distasteful in the sole opinion of Magnetic Bunny Arts will not eligible.
Entrant agrees that by entering the contest (all members of the entering band, if applicable) grants to Magnetic Bunny Arts a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty free, worldwide license to, reproduce, use, publicly display, and distribute the submission performance in the 2011 Rock The Tradition compilation album. The selected submission will appear on up to 10,000 CD copies, unlimited digital downloads and streaming on the promotional websites promoting Magnetic Bunny Arts through July 31, 2012.
Magnetic Bunny Arts may do any or all of the foregoing for any purpose necessary or relating to the Magnetic Bunny Arts’ services, products or advertising as it relates to this competition, including, but not limited to display on website, Facebook or other media and, or reproducing the submission performance on a recording device. Magnetic Bunny Arts is not required to use any submission performance. Entrant authorize Magnetic Bunny Arts and the right to use name, likeness and approved images, photographs and biographies to be used in relation to the Compilation and contest’s dedicated website. Selected artists agree to provide necessary materials on timely basis for the development of the Magnetic Bunny Arts Rock The Tradition promotional website. Selected artists agree to help promote compilation via social networks and other digital assets.
Magnetic Bunny Arts is not responsible for error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operations or transmission, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to or alterations of entry materials, or technical, network, telephone equipment, electronic, computer, hardware, or software malfunctions of any kind, or inaccurate transmission of or failure to receive entry, winner(s) or other contest information by Magnetic Bunny Arts or entrants for any reason whatsoever. Magnetic Bunny Arts is also not responsible for any injury or damage to any entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from playing or downloading any materials in the Contest or for entries that are late, misdirected or incomplete
CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATIONS OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF THE CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Magnetic Bunny Arts reserves the right to cancel the contest if it becomes technically corrupted.
To find out the name of the winner(s) of the Contest, visit the Site (www.rockthetradition.com or www.magneticbunny.com) after the specified Contest end date and time. Non-verified winners will be notified by email and phone and must respond within 7 days of transmission.
If Magnetic Bunny Arts does not receive a response within this time period, the winner may be disqualified and an alternate winner may be determined. A Winner is the primary contact of the band submitting the winning entry. Winners assume all liability for any injury; damage caused or claimed to be caused by participation in this promotion, or use or redemption of any prize. Potential Winner(s) (including all members of the band, if applicable) may be required to execute and return an affidavit of eligibility and liability release, within 5 days of notification attempt or the prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner may be selected. No responsibility or liability is assumed for damages, losses or injury resulting from acceptance or use of the prize. By accepting his or her prize, the winner(s) (including all band members, if applicable) : (a) releases Magnetic Bunny Arts and their affiliated companies from any all liability claims, action or proceedings arising out of or for injuries or damages sustained while involved in a promotion activity or connection with the use of the prizes; as well as (b) consents to the use by Magnetic Bunny Arts for promotional purposes in connection with this promotion, of his or her name and/or likeness and/or voice without further compensation.
Except where prohibited by law, entry constitutes permission to use all entrant’s names, hometowns, likenesses, and photographs for online posting, and/or any advertising and publicity without additional compensation.
The Prize cannot be redeemed for cash or substituted for any other items by the winners. The winners cannot assign or transfer prizes. Magnetic Bunny Arts reserves the right to substitute a comparable prize of like or greater value.
Selection Process:
1. All eligible competition entries will be reviewed by Magnetic Bunny Arts organizers. Magnetic Bunny Arts organizers will select a minimum of 8 songs from the contest entries, on the basis of technical proficiency, vocals, and music ability no later than Saturday, May 21 2011. The winner will be notified by email and/or phone on or about May 31, 2011. Magnetic Bunny Arts and Magnetic Bunny Arts organizers decision are final.
GRAND PRIZE:
The chosen entrants will receive the following:
Entrant’s song will appear in a 2011 promotional compilation CD (physical and/or electronic) distributed (physically or digitally) by Magnetic Bunny Arts. Public relations support and marketing support from Magnetic Bunny Arts promotional campaign to support release of the compilation.
Winning entrant will receive a minimum of ten (10) complimentary CD compilations and/or ten (10) physical or digital at the discretion of Magnetic Bunny Arts.
Magnetic Bunny Arts reserves the right to forfeit the manufacture and sale of physical CDs and instead make this project available only as digital content if ample manufacturing and marketing funds are not raised through song submission fees and Rock The Tradition project contributions.
Submission of Content:
Entrant shall be solely responsible for the Content and the consequences of posting or publishing it. In connection with the Content, entrant affirms that: (i) entrant owns or have the necessary licenses, rights, consents, and permissions to use and authorize Magnetic Bunny Arts to use all patent, trademark, trade secret, copyright or other proprietary rights in and to any and all Content to enable inclusion and use of the Content in the manner contemplated by the Site and this Agreement; and (ii) entrant has the written consent, release, and/or permission of each and every identifiable individual person in the Content to use the name or likeness of each and every such identifiable individual person to enable inclusion and use of the Content in the manner contemplated by this Site and this Agreement. Magnetic Bunny Arts has the right in its sole discretion to refuse to post Content for any reason, including, but not limited to, submitted Content that appears to contain material protected by intellectual property rights held by a third party.
Entrant agrees that Magnetic Bunny Arts is not responsible for any violations of any intellectual property rights in any Content that you submit to Magnetic Bunny Arts. Entrant understands that by using the Service that your Content will be publicly available to others and that Magnetic Bunny Arts has no obligation to prevent the unauthorized copying, dissemination, alternation or other use of your Content by others.
Site Availability
Entrant understands that the Site may be taken down for maintenance from time to time and that most Site features, including access to the Contest, will not be available during that time.
Termination of Services
Magnetic Bunny Arts reserves the right to terminate any portion of the Site at any time, for any reason, with or without notice, even though termination may affect your ability to participate in the Contest.
